My Heart Will Not Sit Down

I've had the opportunity lately to read some great picture books and books for young readers. I'm taking Fridays to review some of the ones I've enjoyed.

My Heart Will Not Sit Down by Mara Rockliff and illustrated by Ann Tanksley was published by Alfred A. Knopt in 2012.

New York city received the gift of $3.77 from Cameroon back in 1931. This gift was sent to feed the hungry during the Depression. This book was inspired by that event.

It is a moving story of compassion that is told with a powerful simplicity and vivid language. I highly recommend it!
